Thumbs down "Friendly" Houstonian Fj owners

How many of you have seen me (the handsome cool laid back guy) in his silver off-road package waving at you, honking his horn, saying hi, smile, flashing his high beams...and you didn't even bother to look, or if you did, didn't smile or say hi back?... I guess you all feel we don't have to be friendly to one another just because we all own an Fj, right? We are not a family... (true that...lol)

... no hard feelings. It's Houston...

I'll keep flashing my high beams when I see an Fj...someone from this forum will eventually say hi back...

I do it every chance I get... on the west side is where I reside.

There are alot of FJ owners that bought them because they were an inexpensive large SUV and will never take them off pavement... they also aren't intrested in getting on a forum to discuss their vehicle with other FJ owners...

I'll be on the lookout fer 'ya!

Live in Spring Branch and I work off of Shepard.

I'm the super slow guy in the mornings and the crazy guy jumping bumps in the road in the evenings

Re: "Friendly" Houstonian Fj owners

You would probably have better luck doing you do towards obviously modded FJs. The Subaru RS/WRX/STi crowd has grown with more and more mainstreamers. Flashing/honking/waving results in few positive reactions every year. I reserve such actions toward obviously modded cars, as they are more likely to be enthusiasts and forum members.

Re: "Friendly" Houstonian Fj owners

It's not limited to Houston. I've been waving and making a general spectacle of myself around the Indianapolis area for a year now and I think I've gotten two waves back. One appeared to be because the guy assumed he knew me.

Another good way to spot... I have Native Texan plates.

I was Cruisin' down Westheimer a few weekends ago and noticed a VDB FJ ahead, made my way through traffic and saw a very rare sight...

HAWAIIAN PLATES!
