Houston area questions

So need some guidance. Anyone know where i can get my hands on some recovery gear in the Houston area? I want to start playing and think it only polite to carry at the very least a snatch strap and shackles if i need to be yanked out.

Second question, can anyone recommend a good place to get the front windows tinted in the Houston area.

Re: Houston area questions

There is a 4 Wheel Parts right by Reliant Stadium, but down in your area I remember guys talking up B&C Offroad in Pasadena. But let me know what you find out, I'm interested as well.

Re: Houston area questions

Northern Tool on 290 has recovery gear -- I got my strap there. The 4 Wheel Parts that was on Gessner (now on Westheimer) barely had anything at all. Hopefully they got more stuff since they moved.

Re: Houston area questions

You might try a rigging shop. Something like Holloway Houston, or Certex.

Holloway makes the rigging slings right there. They might even make custom set for you.

I used to do business with them professionally. They have all the stuff. Hell you could even get a tirfors/griphoist/cable winch if you wanted instead of a powered winch. Tirfors for example.

They used to be about 2 minutes from my place, but they were pretty much always empty. You know it's bad when I'd have to bypass a dedicated 4 wheel shop to get a strap at a tool store.

On that note, Northern tool is perpetually out of 3/4" shackles.
