Need Houston Advice

I'm going to Houston at the end of the month for my grandmothers 100th birthday. I want to take my wife and grandmother out for a great steak dinner and I've heard Papabros is good. Is this true?

Thanks for any help.

Hey Fatbob,

Here's a list of some of the best steak winners. Pappa's is on the list. I usually eat steak when traveling on business, so when at home in Houston I go out for BBQ, fish, fajitas, etc. so don't have a strong steak recommendation myself.

Fogo de Chao (#1 IMHO), Taste of Texas, Perry's, Capitol Grill, Ruth's Chris (DUH), etc...

I just looked at the CitySearch list and I agree with the names on the Top 10 list, not necessarily the order.

I'm with 5x5, Fogo is a cool place, but it's pretty trendy. I'd shoot for Perry's, it's a homegrown place and it's got really good food quality.

Taste of Texas. It's expensive though. Personally, I LOVE Texas Roadhouse. The price is good too.

Re: Need Houston Advice

Another vote for Taste of Texas; had the best steak of my life there. Could literally cut it with a fork it was so tender.

But if you really want to impress them with atmosphere and service, Ruth Chris.
