Re: Houston to General Sams day trip (03/01/08)

My pics, very incomplete are here. MsIsom should be posting more like the ones of them getting me unstuck and them getting a jeep unstuck.

General Sams 03/01

Re: Houston to General Sams day trip (03/01/08)

Our pictures are up see above link ^^^^^

!st off --- General Sams is 150% better than Spring Creek.

They are well organized, friendly, and not trashy.
The trails are not marked well or at all, but they do provide you a map so at least you can find the fence, the tower, the mud pit, and get your bearings.
As mentioned the tails are wide and well maintained. We did "find" a nice 4wheeler trail, but overall you could tell a 4wheeler trail from a FJ trail.

Not picture -- CaliChaos finds the tree stump, fence line water hole, cliff, more swamp pics, snakes, spiders and bugs.
OH -- and them damn thorns!

There are showers, food, camping, air, wash off and real restrooms - this place makes Spring Creek look like someone back 40 on the farm.

General Sams is exit 123, Spring Creek is the Tomball exit at 63 or so) -- for the extra 45 minutes your day will be MUCH MUCH more enjoyable.

Thanks Finga74 for joining, we had a good time. Oh and your hot too!

It was my pleasure to meet you guys and wheel with you. I see more of those days in the future.

Thanks for doing a better job of documenting the trip than i did. I second the opinion that General Sams is much better than spring, I will drive the extra miles without even thinking about it.

I'm pissed I missed out on the fun!

Fingas-rock rails are a must...but at least that rash gives you an excuse to mod away!

Yeah wish i had put on rails before this trip, the damage put a little bend to the cover on the door sill and put a little flex in the passenger side door that twangs when it is shut but other than the scrape on the passenger door trim and the missing piece after i washed and waxed today it looks good again.
