re: Houston to General Sams day trip (03/01/08)

March 1st 2008, leaving Houston around 9ish -- arriving 11ish.

Wheel for the day, have dinner someplace in the area, roll on back to Houston.
CB Channel 29 - why because we like it like that.

Our route will be I-45 starting at Dixie Farm road and head north.

FAQ about this trip:
Who are you? -- no one
What are you driving? -- a FJ Cruiser
Do you have any mods? -- no
Have you wheeled before? -- yep
Will you hold my hand? -- taking cute offers only
What time will you be there? -- realistically around noon (yeah we drive slow; and dont leave on time)
How long will you stay? -- Till it isnt fun anymore (could be an hour, could be 6 hrs)
Where are you eating? -- someplace that serves food
Why? Because we have never been there before.
What if it rains? Then I'll be in Huntsville seeing a movie, or visiting the prison museum.

the place:
General Sams!

see you there.

or not.

General Sam's website says:

Quote:
Entry Fees

Each Off road Vehicle + Driver .................................................. .. $20
For every additional rider .................................................. ...... $5

Weekend Special .................................................. ...................... $45
Includes primitive camping and riding from Friday (4 PM) until Sunday (6 PM)
Looks intresting. I hope to have my FJ back by then, if so this looks promising.

Very interesting, I may have to check this out. I have offered my services to MIGZ on his build so if he decides to do it saturday i may be out. Let me see if i can get him to commit to a day so i can give you a yay or nay.

Oh also may depend on whether i get stuck in Ohio past friday for work.

Re: Houston to General Sams day trip (03/01/08)

Was up there a couple of weeks ago. It is a fun place for mostly mudding type adventures. Would it offend you if some of us from your neighbor to the NW (bryan-college station) maybe came along for the ride?

Hah! I'm going to bring my cooties and infect everyone just because you didn't call and invite me personally Cali. I've been sick since the aborted SCORP run Feb. 16. I'm still just getting over it.

What did you damn Yankees put in my chicken fried steak?
