Re: North Texas Meet & Greet at NRH Hooters on 03-15

Barring any last-minute interruptions, I should be able to make it. Hope there's plenty of parking (if I remember right, the lot's small, but it's been a while since I've been to that location).

Be advised: Saturday is typically 'Kids Eat Free Day' at most Hooters (why, I can't really fathom, would Hooters be trying to get people to bring their kids to a Hooters)...
So much for a "guy's getaway"; Hooters is really turning into one of the places I'm beginning to go less frequently. I guess since the last time I went to Hooters the girls were mostly fully dressed with bulletproof clothing, Hooters is trying to re-market itself as a 'family' restaurant..

Ker's Winghouse is where I usually go when winging (reminds me of what Hooters used to be like). Anyway, YMMV. <Hooters mini-rant off>

True, but the Owens next door went out of business and the closed Best Buy is still vacant.

Ok, it's official. If we regroup in the future, it will be held at Bonedaddy's in Grapevine.

Bone daddy's is much better. I like the "decorations" in the place. The last time I went was in Austin in full uniform. They treat us right at that location. It's 114 miles and 1:31 on the Garmin. That's a little long but that is on my long weekend. I'll keep it in mind.

I help take care of a QF-4S (former J model) in the Ft. Worth Veteran's Airpark at Meacham Airport. We also have an A-4, F-5, F-14, 2 - O-2's, 2 - OV-10's, an A-7B,and a T-37 on static display. We have an F-105F (I think it's an F model...) on the way. I am a WOFT medical washout and ended up becoming a ranger (2/75 Inf). I served 88-92 active duty and 92-96 reserves as a combat engineer. I went to Panama, Desert Storm and Bosnia.

I retired from being a field geologist / pressure control engineer in the oilfield 2 years ago and now I fart around with old airplanes. One of my other "gigs" is being a crew chief on the B-25 "Pacific Prowler" on the airshow tour during the summer.
Here are some pics
