Arrow Atten Houston Area Guys - Spring Break Beach Bash '08 - March 14-16 @ Crystal Beach!

I know this is kinda short notice but here is the info...

It's that time of year again! That's right, it's time for TTORA's 6th Annual Spring Break Beach Bash!

This year will be having a crawfish boil provided by Champion Toyota (my dealership) on Saturday the 15th for all members and their guests!

More info located here...
http://www.ttora.com/forum/showthread.php?t=93308

Directions -

Go down to Galveston Island and take the ferry over to the Bolivar Peninsula. Go down about 5 miles until you hit your first trafic signal. This should be Crystal Beach Rd. Make a right, go down to the beach and we'll be on the left hand side. Here's a map:

The green highlighted area on the map shows approximately where we will try to setup.

What you'll need to bring?

Drinks - Bring plenty of ice cold beverages. Alcohol is allowed on the beach BUT glass containers are prohibited. They do take this pretty seriously so cans or plastic bottles only.

Firewood - As some of you know, I'm a fire bug and this weekend will be no exception. If you've got some sitting around, bring it by. Pallets make great fires too! Just be sure that you break them down before brining them out to the beach as we don't want to leave rusted nails.

Beads - If you'd like to participate in the "bead tossing festivities" that happen later in the afternoon it might be a good idea for you to pick up some beads at a party store. Just a tip, the gigantic beads will normally net you A LOT of attention.

As a reminder, you now MUST have a beach parking sticker in order to park on the beach. These stickers are $10 and can be purchased from convenience stores on the Bolivar Peninsula. Be sure that you get your stickers before arriving to the beach.

So who's in??? I will be there Friday morning as I have a beach house there for the weekend. I'd like to see some FJC's in abundance out there for this very layed back weekend!

Thanks

Shannon, you are the MAN! I grew up on Crystal!!!!!!!

It's a rolling party during the summer time, plenty of open coolers, sunshine, and women! Man those were the good old days, when the cops would have a beer with ya.

As far as where to stay...there are some flea bag hotels (although it's gotten way better since I was in high school), but I suggest bringing a tent and passing out like the rest of us!

There is a fairly new hotel down there. I forget the name of it but I know it's west of Crystal Beach going towards the ferry. There are also beach houses for rent down there. Swedes manages most of them. Goto www.swedesrealestate.com and you can see all the houses they have for rent...you'll have to call them though for availability. Houses range from anywheres from $275 - $1000+ for the weekend depending on if it's beach front and how nice it is...there are million dollar homes to fish camps available to rent down there. Being so close to the date though, they may have very few houses to choose from, if any at all.

You could certainly camp, I'd just suggest camping farther east from Crystal to get away from the "zoo".

Thanks

Oh! Man I wish I could come out there for this party! You have fun, Shannon, but don't post pictures. I'll just be jealous.

I've added a picture of a shark some guy caught that day. I felt one like this bump me the first time I went in the water. Did the shark shuffle after that!

Re: Atten Houston Area Guys - Spring Break Beach Bash '08 - March 14-16 @ Crystal Beach!

Below is the map showing where our beach house is...

I am in the beach house named the Seagull, located on Ave. J right off of Gulf Shores Street. We plan to setup our base of operation directly behind the house. That way we'd be right at the corner where Gulf Shores hits the beach. This would actually move us one block east of the yellow highlighted area on the map posted in the very first post of this thread.

Thanks

Jump in your new FJ and roll on down here Mo! If you left right now you'd make it in plenty of time!

I'll make sure to have a drink in your honor...so expect a phone call from me sometime that weekend!

I'd scare the hell out of you if I actually showed up, huh? It would be worth the trip just for that. And to see Manny fall into the fire.

If I don't get a call I'm going to think you don't love me anymore.

I may go but I would have to be back down there on the 16th b/c that day I'm going on a cruise and I'm not leaving the FJ in Galveston parked for a week.
