Re: Ouray?

Jason,
My last response via email from you was that there was no waiting list so this is news to me. I have included in all my posts that I think you and all organizers are doing a great thing here and my intention is not to disrespect that. I simply want to take my 5 and 7 year old kids along with my wife to Colorado to visit friends, make new ones, and have a good time. It is not to go to Ouray and raise hell and turn Ouray into Sturgis. I understand that respect to the town and trails is of most importance. The town of Ouray will see a huge financial benifit from this event and I have not read one post that says "lets get wild".

My post is to give people that have missed registration or simply dont want to register and have an all meals paid situation an avenue to enjoy the Summit. I am sure that with our without my post there are going to be people that show up unregistered. Please note that I am not inciting anyone to get there any way you can and who cares about registering or not. I have had 5 or 6 PM's and replys to this thread from people that simply want to go on a trail run. I enjoy this forum and love my truck, the Summit is simply a combining of the two for a good time to be had by all. Please PM me and I will give you my phone number if you wish to discuss this further.

Thanks,
Matt

Re: Ouray?

no problem Matt - the waiting list is a new thing we're doing as of Thursday or Friday of last week(we originally just didn't want to track it).

we may have spots coming up - about 20 or so. would you like to register if so?

X2 You all did such a great job the first time around that people are jonsin' to go regardless of the situation. In the words of the great philosopher Sherriff Brody; "We're gonna need a bigger boat"

Re: Ouray?

There are many reasons why organizing some sort of an offshoot get together at the same time will not work.

One of which is liability in case of incident. Somebody not registered drives off a cliff and then sues the organizers etc.
Another would be the size of the town, the limitaitons put on numbers of rigs on any given trail, etc.
I don't want to open it for discussion, but I'm putting an end to this here.

If you wish to go to The 2008 FJ Cuiser Summit, contact the organizers to get on the waiting list.
We will not allow the organization of any rogue groups (regardless of how good the intentions are) to be hosted on this forum.
