San Antonio FJ Owners

I have only seen 2 or 3 posts from owners in SA. Is anyone in a local FJ, Toyota or 4X4 club?

Re: San Antonio FJ Owners

I've got an Xterra and lurk around on this site, San Antonio Offroad, they generally have weekly/bi-weekly get-togethers. I'm headed up to General Sam's in Houston in about two hours, wanna come?!

Re: San Antonio FJ Owners

I guess most of the FJ owners in SATX don't know about the forum.

Hey Tazman, how close are you to Rockport/Port A? I'm hoping to go down there some this summer/fall. I have family in Rockport and used to go down there a few times every year. Now that I have a wife and a couple kids, I rarely make the trip. Its been so long since I went fishing I'll need to strip the line off my reels and re-spool them.

Rockport? I'd say about 2 1/2 to 3 hrs. away. It takes about 2 hrs. to get over to Corpus. I do most of my fishing South of Port Mansfield there in the lower Laguna Madre. About a thirty min. trip while towing my boat. Hope to go out on the bay this Sunday? Hope weather holds up.

Re: San Antonio FJ Owners

So, you guys are here in SA? I would love to meet up w/ some local 4X4 guys, not really a whole lot of Xterra enthusiasts in SA. My main club/forum, TheNewX.org, is pretty active. We just got done w/ a recent weekend excursion/camping trip to Gen Sam's off road park in Houston.

I don't live in S.A., I'm down in Harlingen. I go up to S.A. about everyother weekend. Wouldn't mind meeting up, some weekend. Last time I met up with some fellow FJr's, it took about three tries. Then like i said no more contact?

Re: San Antonio FJ Owners

I live in Austin but am in SA almost every week, my frined lives near ingram mall and says there are some decent trails close by. Ill post up when we are going and see about planning a get togather.

Also, keep watching for a weekend in May, I think I am going to try and plan a day at Boulder Creek near Marble Falls. There are some great trails and a nice area to hang out for lunch and beers.

Re: San Antonio FJ Owners

Sounds good, would love to hit the trails w/ some FJ's. As for trails by Ingram, it's yes and no. They have been cut off a lot and have been really cracked down on lately as far as vehicle use. The city is trying to convert Devil's Den (the name of the trails) into some nature trail/jogging path. There are, however, still areas to access it and another joining area called Leon Creek.

Re: San Antonio FJ Owners

I live NE SATX close to 1604 and IH35. I haven't ran across any trails over here. I hate to date myself but 20 years ago there used to be some nice trails out by Ingram. I thought they were all gone 15 years ago.
