I believe the cabin I will be staying in with my 7 & 9 y/o will have 2 extra twin beds in a seprate sleeping room. I do know the land owners from previous stays out there and it's only about 4-5 miles from Katemcy. Also, it will be A/C'd.

I will verify this info tomorrow and if there is anyone willing to split the costs (60% / 40% or 75% / 25%, 3 of me, 1 or 2 of you) of the cabin please let me know.
If that's still open, I'll take both extra beds. I'm bringing John. You've met him. We can split cost 50/50. Let me know and I'll pay you in cash when we meet up. I'll just follow you up there.

Edit: John want's to camp. Sounds more fun to me too.

OK. I have sliders and All-Pro pro links and skids.

I plan on ordering a bumper this friday (Demello Tube). I already have the stock, non-bling front skid. I can't afford to buy both bud front and tranny/x-case at the same time. Which should I get? I was thinking tranny/x-case.

Also, does Ketemcy allow dogs? I have an 11 week old lab mix that I want to get accustomed to wheeling. In a harness, of course.
Tranny skid would be the one to go with for now, I was skid-less last time, prolly will be again... but I have the TG sliders. Dogs are allowed, last time they had a problem and some complaints with loose dogs in the camp area, just make sure that you have them restrained while at the camp grounds unless you are watching them the whole time.

No problem on the cabin, camping would be more fun but I know my kids will be tired come 10pm and I don't want them to be a burden on any partying that might just happen to occur out there!

Ouch, I'm glad I don't have those predator step bars no more!

Not after I discovered that they're just bolted to the body, and not the frame...
OH SURE rub it in man!!! just cause you WON some... :P

They've been on my "list" for a while... guess they are a NEED now...

They were definitely next on my list, but winning a free set just saved me a mod, for sure (actually, they cost me $100 worth of raffle tickets at the summit). The MT's were unfinished, so I spent some time grinding and polishing, then painting and installing. Although they're advertised as 'step sliders', after installing them I expected them to stick out a little further than they do (and act as a 'step'). You'll have to see them yourself to understand what I mean; I got a big foot, and there's just not enough 'step' for me. But, they're beefy doggone sliders, that's for sure.

Next on the list, a new front bumper...

I know.... Just playing around being a hater.. Congrats! glad ALL the prizes didn't go to AZ and Socal clubs..

About the step issue that is exactly why I haven't bought any yet.. I want them to stick out at least 6-8". My tires are at 8"... and yes bigfoot here too.

Re: Texas Wheeling Event.

I wear a size 11 shoe and can plant my instep on the rail of the TG sliders I have. They stick out parallel to the ground giving them (IMO) more step area than sliders that hug the body. Conversley they will drag rock earlier than sliders of a different make / model.

Re: Texas Wheeling Event.

You'll have to check them out at next month's M&G.

I do miss the steps, though, but I won't miss them when bottoming out on a rock. And, if the pics I've seen of Katemcy are any indication, I'll need a little rock protection, for sure.

That's what I thought. Correct me if I'm wrong, but, stock is naked in that area, correct?

Like a newborn babe.

I agree, start there and work your way back and then front (gas tank skid next, front skid last).

I've found more dings at the back of my rig than the front, as I'm more careful about approaches (and working on my, um, departures)...

Re: Texas Wheeling Event.

If you are considering skids then call Bud at Budbuilt, he is a great guy and he suggests if you cant buy the whole package at onece then start at the front and work your way back. The front is going to be your first point of contact and he makes a good point, if you know you are going to really whack it on something then dont do it.

Bud is a great guy and I really want to promote companies that support us. I think I will start a thread regarding this matter. Metal Tech, BudBuilt, Icon, All-Pro, Toytec, Springtail, TRDParts4u, and some others that I forget were at the Summit and do a good job helping support and promote events that we enjoy attending. Companies like this deserve our support.
