Yeah I agree but I will watch this as well. I think this could be a great idea and the heads up gives everyone a good time to plan. Im sure FJ Dozer and Digger would probably go. If its got mud or dirt or even poop Digger is in (sometimes up to his axels)

I would love to have a Texas FJ gathering, think this is a great idea and look forward to more info.

Re: Texas Wheeling Event.

This is sweet. I have been looking forward to meeting some of you Texas FJer's. I know of at least one FJ that will caravan over there with me. I am certainly down for doing some camping.

How far is Katemcy from Austin? I may come in a day or two early and stay in austin with some friends.

It's about 115+/- miles and about 2 hrs.

Re: Texas Wheeling Event.

Ok here is the deal I'm going to be calling Katemcy today.

see below what is required form them for a Open event ,which we could probably qualify for.

EVENT PLANNING INFORMATION
Closed Events
To hold a closed event (Katemcy is only open to your group and closed to all others) a $3,000 deposit is required. This deposit covers up to 60 vehicles. Any additional vehicles are charged the standard rates. Please contact Shain about scheduling any closed events.

Open Events
When an open event is scheduled, the known clubs and groups are listed; however, open events mean the property has met it's 30 rig quota and is open to wheel by anyone after gate fees are paid.

NOTE: Those groups wishing to make a weekend trip to Katemcy Rocks and have at least 30 rigs that are committed to sign up for a $50 weekend (Saturday and Sunday), please contact Shain or Randy to make arrangements for a date.

KATEMCY ROCKS can usually accommodate most requests, however, two event weekends a month are normal procedure.

Re: Texas Wheeling Event.

I say do an Open Event, that way if there are people that want to show up from around the area they can feel free to "Run what they brung". I'll spread this around to MUD, there are a few people over there that I met at the last Katemcy event here in Texas and I'm sure they will be as excited as all the rest here to get out and hit the granite.

I also wanted to say Shain and Randy are great spotters, you can take anything they say to the bank.

Re: Texas Wheeling Event.

OK here is the deal OCT 11th is OUT they only like to schedule 2 events a month and they are full. We are welcome to attend any of the weekends that have open events already planned.

I spoke to Shain and he recommended either the Sept 5-6 event with TTORA. Only down side to that is that its still really hot and camping would probably not be a good Idea.

Then he said that the Oct 4-5 event is a really good time. Band and people just having a good time.

He also mentioned that the park is big enough that we should not have a problem with over crowded trails or obsticals.

Katemcy Rocks ... Rock Crawling Texas Style

SO here is the deal what date would everyone prefer.

I for one would like to go in OCT as it would be a bit cooler.
