I'm bringing two Maxon handheld CB radios for loaners. They worked great for some of the guys in Ouray, so shouldn't be a problem in lower altitudes like here in Texas.

You will need 9 AA batteries, and those should last you the weekend, easy.
Thanks.

Re: Texas Wheeling Event - Katemcy - October 3-5

I'm wanting to pick up a small CB unit for this trip, something that will fit in the glovebox and isnt too big but is a solid reliable unit. Any suggestions?

I can get everything, including the filter, what color do you want?
I may have trouble getting the piece of metal to mount it in the engine bay, but I'll try my best to get that.
Do you just want to do the t-case, or do you want to do the e-locker and diff breathers too?
Don't worry about the metal mount \/\/\/
Grab a black filter for me if you can.
And just the t-case. I've already done the rear diff. and locker.

Thanks!! I owe you a beer.

Re: Texas Wheeling Event - Katemcy - October 3-5

Was actually thinking about getting one to mount in the FJ is there any advantage/disadvantage to a model like this? Only time I'll ever use this is on the trail or in a convoy.

Re: Texas Wheeling Event - Katemcy - October 3-5

I run a Cobra 76 XTR, pretty much the same as a 75 WSXT but these should be mounted in the truck, your initial post mentioned wanting to throw it in the glove box.

Here is how mine is run...

Mounted on the passenger side, AUX connected to the External Speaker...

...co-ax run through the firewall...

...and mounted on the Demello Front Hoop bumper...

Ahhh sorry ya I wanted to mount it in the glovebox. I'm sure I could make it work with the model you listed, and a Bandi mount. Thanks for the help! I'd read the posts about the 75 WSXT but I wanted to hear from someone personally on what they suggested...that way I know who to hunt down if its crap!
