Re: Texas Wheeling Event - Katemcy - October 3-5

Well I must say I had a great time! thanks to BigPappa for letting me stay at the town house. Overall I recived very minor damage, I havent been under the rig yet but will tomarrow to check things out. I got some new scrapes and scraches on my rims, sliders, rear bumper, tow hitch, brush guard, and some new pin striping down both sides. Nothing really to worrie about just adds some new character to the truck. Every time I go out wheelin I am more and more impressed with the capablities of the FJ, stuff I though I would not be able to do, the FJ just made it seam relatively easy. I kind of wish after seeing the FJ's with the RC 6 inch lift I wish I would have went that route but I am still happy with my OME 3 inch. Ok I will shut up now. It was great wheeling with all of you cant wait to do it again. Once I get my pictures uploaded I will post a link them. Katemcy and Shane (our guide) ROCK!! Oh yea Katemcy has one less Rattle snake now thanks to Matt (Five by Five).

Re: Texas Wheeling Event - Katemcy - October 3-5

Chase, there was an stock X out there, did pretty good as well. I'm kinda upset right now as I didn't know that my camera was set to small pic size (640x480) versus my usual large size (2816x2112)... o well, there are going to be lots of other pics from others that show up on the web so I won't to much. I'm tired but extremely excited about how it all went down. There was thekeepers bent steering arm that was fixed on the trail while hanging off of a 4' dropoff, fingas and anothers who showed us all what bulges really look like, trail rash under and on almost everyones FJ and I somehow developed an exhaust leak on the drivers side in front of where I sit... ...my son wore him self out by walking most of the trails that we drove and after killing that rattle snake I'm just very glad that we can all come back to our homes and be healthy and enjoy all the good memories. MIGZ, just 'cause you yelled SNAKE! and ran away screaming like a little girl doesn't mean anything... JUST KIDDING! ...BTW, I'm uploading some pics now to THIS here folder.

A great big THANK YOU! goes out to Toyota Territory for sponsoring the Wheel-toberfest t-shirts, MIGZ, fingas, SouthTexasCruiser and BigPoppa for helping get the stickers that Wolf designed, The Lindsay Family for having a great place to stay when out in the area, The Kruse family for having Katemy Rocks as a great place to wheel, Matt from West Texas Offroad and Laredo PC (which is now Texas PC, or so I heard at the Saturday night jam session) an most importantly all the fine folks who came out to participate in Wheel-toberfest 2008!

I'm the other one to go home with fender bulges.
And I wasn't even going 5 mph!!!!
I got the snorkel installed fine.
I'll post up pics sometime tomorrow!!
Thanks to everyone for the great time; especially MIGZ, Nick, Keeper, Layton, Wilson, and everyone else who helped with my snorkel!

Thats right! I forgot you dinged your bumper really bad as well. The Fab Fours is mounted on a bracket style system so you can loosen it up and have someone tighten it back down when you have it where you want it.

Thanks for coming out and hope ta see ya again on the trail!

EDIT: MIGZ is right, it is the Expedition One Off-Road Equipment bumper

Re: Texas Wheeling Event - Katemcy - October 3-5

I also had an amazing time and this trip really helped me get pumped up to start work on the 40.

I plan on wheeling the 40 in March. So if anyone is interested in helping me get the 40 drivable I think alot of my weekends for here until then may be working on the 40.

The crazy part is i have no clue what im doing so I will be learning as i go.
