I had the same problem at first...pounded and pounded....I wiggled it a bit before each hit...

Re: Defeated!

Why in the world are you trying to seperate the tie rod ends?

Remove tire, unbolt sway bar, unbolt upper and lower mount of shock, remove, install new, put everything back on.

I've done my front suspension about 4 times now, i've never messed with the tie-rod.

True that! Some reason in the RC instructions it says to seperate the tire rod ends. I ended up jacking mine up on my first RC lift, bc they would seperate via hammer force and ruined the threads. Then I ended up having to replace driver side tie rod end.

Ah, so thats why.

Only part that is tricky to the whole thing is getting the new coilover in to position through the control arms and spindle in the way. Then just use brute force or a crowbar to get the LCA down far enough to get the lower shock mount into its mounting cup. It's pretty simple stuff.

Re: Defeated!

Don't disconnect the tie rod ends, un-bolt the lower A-arm from the spindle.
