Re: 2nd Annual 2008 Thrill on the Hill

I have some nice new Icon coilovers coming with me for the raffle. I also have a set of sliders I'm going to bring and a few other little goodies.

Raffle should be good!

Please, please, please, let me be the winner of those coilovers!!! the weight of my winch is giving me a tiny bit of sag, I NEED them so bad, the last mod ever. (yea right)

THANKS AGAIN to everyone putting this on and the GENEROUS sponsors giving up such cool and amazing prizes!!!!

Idea for next year... we should charge $10 for a raffle for the big prizes and donate that money to a charity in the Ruidoso area. Just a thought.

Dan,
I talked with Brandon today and everything is going well. The Toyota Trails Team arrived today and they are checking out the trails. I'm heading over to Alamogordo on Thursday morning to meet with Brandon and Toyota Trails Team (Chris Nelson) to finalize the trails and to help out with setting up the base camp. See you at the TOTH. Chris

Re: 2nd Annual 2008 Thrill on the Hill

Chris,

I'll look forward to seeing you in the morning. It's been too long! Woody and I spent all day scouting today and found some interesting stuff.

It's good to be back here, although this wind is crazy! Fortunately, it's supposed to die down for the weekend.

I saw this animal that looked like it came from Africa. It had horns that were over two feet tall and looked a bit like a stocky antelope. I heard it was called an oryx. Is that true, or is that the New Mexico version of the jackelope?

Happy trails,

Chris

Re: 2nd Annual 2008 Thrill on the Hill

Just wanted to give everybody a headsup who is coming out of AZ through I-10 to be aware that they closed the interstate between AZ border and Cruces yesterday evening because of blowing wind and dust. 55mph gust of winds + FJ(rolling brick) wouldn't be good. Hope everyone has a safe trip out. If I hear of any closures today or tonight I will post it.

Yes it was an Oryx. They were brought in from Africa as an experiment and they even have a special hunt for them on the missle range. You must have been right on top of White Sands to see one. The New Mexico Jackalope is quite a bit bigger than an Oryx.

Hi Dan,

I'm here at work until 8pm tonight so we won't be going up until in the morning. Brandon was juggling everything left and right and loading up everything all morning... so if anything, he might could use an extra hand at the campground. If I know him, he'll have it all organized and done before we even can get there to help him. The trail team is here running the trails and getting that part of it organized... so I guess all thats left is to get everyone there and enjoy the weekend! I'm looking so forward to the hang out! Thanks and see you very so0n!
