Hey everyone. Sorry I have been out of the loop for a while. TomasMas I am sorry to here about your troubles. Have you looked into any of the other colleges around the state? I hope everything works out for you and your family.
I have been working hard trying to find a place for us to set up camp for the TOTH. Well, I think I found one today and I think it is a great place for everyone and there families. It is a place about 20 minutes from Cloudcroft called Camp of the Tall Pines. It is a huge camp. I was there for about 3 hours today looking over the camp. It will have enough room and amentities for everyone to stay. Which means no hotels or finding cabins. This place has 17 cabins for rent, they have about 10 tent platforms(for tent campers) and about 10 open air shelters for tent campers as well. The only issue is that their really isn't an actual RV park. They have hosted other parties before and have had as many as 36 RV's on the park. So that means that there will only be water and power available for those with RV's and pop-ups.
I have an RV myself and I don't feel it will be an issue. They feel that it wise that we are having the event in September instead of May. They say it is always dry up there in May.
They have ATV rentals there for you and the family with lots of trails all over and around the camp. I got to check them out today. Those ATV trails are perfect for our FJ's too. Also they have several horses available for horseback riding trips around the area. They have a large enclosed pavilion for big parties !! Pool tables, horse shoes, everything we can imagine. We may not even need to leave the property except maybe to hit a trail or two. I will put some pictures on the next post for everyone. Please let me know what you all think by the end of the week so I can lock it down if I get a thumbs up for everyone. Hope to hear from everyone soon.
That's a no brainer. The place sounds great. Book it.
Checked out the web site, looks to be an awesome place to have the 3rd TOTH
do we need to reserve an RV site through you Brandon or call direct?
with the new RV sites they are building this will be great
thanks again for all of you hard work Brandon
Kevin
Brandon,
Thanks for your concern on my job front. Now to the important stuff, the campground sounds great! Nail it down, come hell or high water (or drought or unemployment) me and my family will be there.
Tomas
PS - I went to the concealed carry site, good to keep people informed. Betcha didn't know I did PR and Video Production for the NRA, I had an office in the NRA headquarters in Virginia. I still have some great connections with the NRA if you ever need.
Thanks for the support everyone. They are still working on the RV park portion of the camp. As it stands now, those with RV's will have 30 amp service,(which is extension cards run from nearby cabins) and water hoses from near by water supplies. You can run your generators if you have them. They did say that they had 36 RV's there at one time. Here is a link to their website Camp of the Tall Pines.
The camp grounds look great. So,let me get this through my thick skull. TOTH-3 is a for sure on for Labor Day weekend. Which days (dates do we need to make reservations) and do we go through you (Brandon) or the campground? Also, what are the possibilities for elec. at a campsite for my sleep apnea machine aka snoring machine, (Tomas might think I'M bear and cut loose). At any rate, we're there!

You will go through me for the tent camping, rv's and pop ups. To reserve a cabin, you will register through me and then call there to reserve on of the 17 cabins.
