A big thanks goes out to Brandon for securing the lodge for several nights, so that we had a place to rest our heads before venturing out to scout the local trails, the good food, cold beers and the best part was catching up on FJ talk with Terry (Cookn), Kevin (Fatbrat), Pat and his wife (local NMFJers), Chris and family (local NMFJer), Jake (Brandon's brother-in-law & 4Runner owner), and Steve and Pam owners of the Camp of the Tall Pines. We had a great time exploring the area, and those FJers that debated about coming out missed out on a great time! For the TOTH event we have enough trails for beginners to experienced FJers - trails for scenery and great vistas overlooking the Tularosa Basin, mountain dirt roads that take you through beautiful pine tree forests with abundant wildlife (we saw well over 100 turkeys, mule deer, elk and I scouted some challenging trails that will require at a minimum a 3 inch lift and 33 inch tires or (these are unimproved powerline roads that have no maintenace with lots of limestone ledges and washed out drainage crossings). Brandon and few others have photos, so they will start posting pics of what we scouted and this will be a great TOTH event, so mark those calendars for Labor Day weekend and I hope to see you all there. One other thing, the Camp of the Tall Pines is a great facility for hosting the FJ event and is much better than the previous TOTH event site in Ruidoso. Adios, Chris

Chance & I had a great time with all mention above. Today was a long haul---about 550 miles but worth the trip. Thanks again to Brandon for his support. The scouting was fun and I think for all that come in September will be pleased with the trails that will be available.
Thanks to all of you who took the time and expense to scout things out. can't wait 'till the big event.

Hey everyone, this past weekend was great. We covered a lot of ground. Thank you to everyone who helped. I think everyone is really going to enjoy themselves this year at the TOTH. The camp we reserved is perfect for this event and the trails are great. Everything from technical to sight seeing. I hope the site for registration will be up by the end of the month. I will keep you all posted.
Awesome weekend scouting trails, I found out that I can't read maps real well
got lost twice ended up on other trails, found my way out, and almost run out of gas below a 1/8 tank ...the saying be prepared before you go out on the trails is a wise thought. The TOTH is going to be a great event, the Camp of the Tall Pines is an excellent place to hold the off road rally. Thanks to Brandon for the cabin, and the eats..those muffins were great. Terry great meeting you and Chance...Jake the Snake..my beer drinking buddy, Archy good to see you again, enjoyed talking about FJ's and modding with you
I had a great time hanging out with you guys
