my favorite tool

has to be my DeWalt 1/2 inch impact wrench . It save some time and effort when changing wheels or other large and tight lugs and bolts.

I've been looking at one of those, but was a little skeptical. So you can change tires with not problem?

Re: my favorite tool

I have a Sears Craftsmen version of the electric 1/2" impact gun and it works great. I originally purchased it to use at work running lag bolts and nuts on carriage bolts building homes.

I have found it to be very handy working on vehicles as well. Once I install a power inverter into the FJ I will carry it in the FJ during offroad use. Works like a charm on lug nuts.

Re: my favorite tool

I just got a craftsman 30 gal air compressor. It came with an air ratchet and an impact wrench. All for under 300 bucks.

Sure saves time swapping out wheels.

Re: my favorite tool

Has anyone run a corded impact wrench from the factory inverter? Is there enough juice to power one?

I like my DeWalt impact better than air impact wrenchs cause there is no need for an air compressor ,no air hose to get in the way and no oil to add.

Yeah. The electric ones are nice but they are pricey.

I can use a sprayer, air wrench, fill up my tires, blow out my interior.

I actually went to go buy an electric and walked out with the air compressor. The electronics were pretty weak for the price range I was looking at.

Plus I never run out of battery power. Im bad about putting them on the charger.

I've run my Milwuakee Sawzall hatchet on the rear outlet and it barely enough to run that.I would only buy battery powered.

Re: my favorite tool

My electric impact gun is a 120V. I doubt that a 400W inverter would run it.
