I've done that to reach the middle of the windshield but, yes, it's pretty hard. I'm 5'3". If you turn the wheels all the way to the left or right, it's easier. I'd rather use one of these steps for $20 rather than risk slipping off the tire when it's wet.

Ah, for the front. Gotcha. I am 6'1" so no point on the hood is really out of reach. I was thinking about just the rear, for powerwashing the roof or placing/removing gear from the racks.

When i sold Christmas trees in college i would always jump up on the persons tire in order to tie the tree down to their roof rack. I just like the price of my version more than this

6'1"?! Sheesh, no wonder reaching the middle of the truck isn't a problem!

Mising thanks for bringing up an issue that all FJ'ers really need to be aware of. It is not just safety, it's a congenital condition that height-challenged FJ'ers suffer.

We all need to support those with FJ TBP and learn what we can do to help.

Re: One of my most used, but least expensive tools...

I picked up a similar one from Dick's Sporting goods on closeout for $4.99. Couldn't pass it up. Always be sure to remove it before driving off. That could be real ugly.

i just stand on the tire.

Maybe in the short run, but that stuff disintegrates quickly. Doesn't last long in the elements.
