Hi lift jack- Which make, model? Some feedback Please.

I have a NON LIFTED Fj, and NOT planning to lift.
In the market for a Hi Lift (AKA Farm Jack).
Never used a Hi Lift jack before.
The Trail Team held a pretty good clinic on it's use/s. So I am familiar in the safety aspect and it's basic use.
I plan to use it to jack the rig up to place jack stand underneath the Fj when I need too (this will also help me become hands on familiar with it's use). And to help recover when I am out, jacking and pulling the rig (like a come along)(hand winching).
I am pretty much leaning on the Hi Lift Extreme Model 48". I am going with the 48" model for several reasons (my non-lifted Fj, and planning to mount it across the rear of the roofrack).

OK can I get some feedback on make and model? 48" model VS 60" Models?
From you helpfull folks?

Thanx

Get a hi-lift most of the cheap farm jack the pins in the lifting mecanism break and you can change them. If you go with a farm jack make sure you can change the pin in them and buy spares.

Hi-Lift extreme - better quality then the standard model.
48" if you want it to fit inside the FJ (parallel to you axles)

Re: Hi lift jack- Which make, model? Some feedback Please.

I like the 48" extreme. I am lifted and i have no problems using it to do exactly what you are referring to, lifting to place on jack stands. Make sure when you use it on your rails (which appear to be the only mounting position for you if you do not have aftermarket steel bumpers), you only lift between the support braces of the rails. I would also suggest having the door open when you use the hi-lift in that spot.
Practicing using it in my drive way has really helped me understand how it operates, and how to use it effectively.
Some people have lifted the FJ from the trailer hitch. I would not advise you to do this to place it on jack stands or on the trail. If you lifted it from there it is in a very unstable position, even with the front wheels chocked.
