Ok, allow me to preface this post by saying that I am female on a tool forum. Please treat me gently.
I posted this Q on Craigslist, then I remembered I have my wonderful FJ friends who know a lot about tools!
So I have never used a leaf blower... but we have new landscaping, yard is covered in black bark, and now with oak leaves all over that. So if anyone can answer if this is the right tool I need for the job, I'd appreciate it. The deal is that I don't want to rake (bark mess...), but am wondering if/which blower is low enough power to blow the leaves to one spot, without blowing the bark all over the place. either gas or electric is OK.
Ok, so I have an answer. It's about idling and throttling, so it's almost car related. How did I ever figure anything out before the internet???
"first off is it a gas or electric unit electric is good for a lot of things but even in low it's blowing way to hard for gravel I use a gas leaf blower and am a landscaper my trick is use the blower in idle to very low throttle that way it's blowing just hard enough to pick up the lighter material and you can also get a blower which converts into a vac and you can suck up the leaves and mulch them without picking up everything else"
Just found this one on Craigslist. Hope I'm "man enough" to handle this bad boy... I might even aim it at my husband when he's pissing me off.

Even though you've eluded to a miss use of the forum it's still a miss use of the forum.
I use a leaf blower after washing my FJ to remove excess water from the top, wheels, etc. to prevent spotting & before using the chamois. Therefore in my case a leaf blower IS an FJ related tool.

Well, I wanted this tool for the renters, but they told me they have ZERO interest in keeping our garden alive, so we hired gardeners (with leaf blower) and WE are paying for water. So thanks guys!
When I get back from Germany I will buy one, and thanks for the FJ use tip. I think it would be particularly useful for pre-drying the roof!
