Re: Preview of January Consumer Reports' FJ Cruiser coverage

Well put FJVP. I love my FJ. I use to own an Acura MDX. I love the ride and all the creature comforts that it offers BUT I needed something with a little more Ball$! The MDX struggled to pull my trailer with 2 race bikes and all my gear. With the FJ, I don't feel like I'm even towing anything..except when I mpg. Comparing the FJ with other SUVs is like comparing apples to oranges...Sure they all have their similarities but most of them can not do what the FJ can do off-road. my 2cents

Re: Preview of January Consumer Reports' FJ Cruiser coverage

We know what a geat vechical we all own, I'm glad that it will not become as main stream as a Ford Explorer, or the 4Runner. I had one of the first 4runners in 1985, it was a special vechical back then and I watched, to my horror, as it morfed into this carpeted leather bound uptown vanity wagon that was too nice to get dirty...please. The FJ shouldn't be only religated to humble duties such as grocery getting, and scoccer practice. Just imagine, when you only see another FJ on a desert trail, on road to a favorite fishing stream, or deep up that Seirra canyon camping and the driver waves back you in affirmation of what you already know. FJ has guts, it doesn't need glory.

My mom has a 2007 MDX, and I drive it all the time. But, the weird thing is, when im driving it, im wishing I was in my FJ. It is more fun for me.

When they say fit and finish I assume they are referring to all the plastic which most would expect to find comfy carpet.

One of the best features of the vehicle IMO.
X2. Cracks me up every time I see reviews cracking on the lack of "creature comforts" such as power seats, etc. I personally hate carpet as I think does anybody that actually uses their truck as a truck. Thank God my FJ isn't a POS MDX.

Re: Preview of January Consumer Reports' FJ Cruiser coverage

I think their view is pathetic - frankly they're just wrong. It sounds like a reporter or analyst trying to make a deadline. The ride is awesome and everyone who has ever ridden in my truck thinks so as well. I also own a 2006 MDX - it is very different, and really isn't even a truck ... I should just let it go but their incorrect opinion really is pathetic. I really only care as I don't want it to hurt my resale in the future ....

Voodoo out ...

Re: Preview of January Consumer Reports' FJ Cruiser coverage

I wouldn't recommend taking consumer reports very seriously. Anyone who fundamentally rates vehicles based on their "crash-worthiness" hasn't got a clue about the ownership experience of driving cars. They don't understand why a 55k BMW 5 series is a magnificent driver's vehicle because of the cost (and it doesn't haul furniture) and they don't get why a Miata is a great drive because of the responsiveness and agility because is doesn't crash as well as an Expedition. They've fundamentally never met a vehicle they liked.

Stick to letting them recommend dishwashers and dryers an they might have some credibility.
