I can't believe they don't agree with this forum and think that there is no other vehicle at all but the FJ. Closed minded fools.
Yea! . . . whuh? Seriously, it all depends on the readership. Consumer reports is widespread, and not offroad oriented, so they take onroad manners and convenience over offroad capabilities. A rating by an offroad magazine would put the Wrangler Rubicon at the top.
The FJ is not the best at any extreme of SUVdom, but it is the best at a balance, between having real offroad capabilities, and being comfortable on the street. Only the Nissan X-Terra comes close within the price range. The FJ wins by style.

Re: Consumer Report

9th... Yeah that's the one thing I don't like about consumer reports, they're waaaaaay too practical. But I guess if you never go off-roading owning an FJ is pointless.

Re: Consumer Report

If I based everything I owned on what consumer reports said, I would be living a really boring "safe" life.

That tears it, I'm gettin' a Kia!

Btw, do they make sliders for Kia's? I don't want to fuk up my sides when I go rock crawling.
Maybe we could do a group buy on Kia. Didn't the Kia win the Baja? I know it's metal is so tough it doesn't need any sliders for rock climbing. If one of us had a Kia we would never worry on the trail. It's almost as fast as the H3. That Consumer mag. is good if you need to barf.
OK, Kia is nice for the money, but it's no FJ Cruiser.
