Washington Times gives us Ind rear susp.

My Google news is programed to turn up FJ articles and a December 30th article is pretty bland normal stuff until I learn that we have "four wheel independent suspension". Must be a new feature on the '08's cause mine has a solid rear axle. Wouldn't it be nice if they got a car guy to write the car articles.
Come to think of it, way back when I was shopping for a sports car this dopey Alfa salesman tried to tell me the Alfa Spyder had independent rear, while acting all snooty and European on me. I was about 22 and fully ten years his junior, I laughed and left. Got a nice Datsun 280Z, great car, with independent rear.

Yup..another "auto expert" blamed poor fuel economy on the 4 speed transmission in the FJ.

Some much for experts.

He probably read the Edmonds comparison chart linked from Toyota's website that lists the FJ as having four-wheel independent suspension:

Comparator - Advantage Summary

Confused me when I was car shopping.

Everyone messes up sometimes. The FJ Cruiser book by Edsall has some mess ups in the 'specs' page in the back. Apparently we have 17.5" wheels.

It would be great if I had a clue, but let's face it, that's just not gonna happen.
