Bested only by new Mercedes...

Maybe someone can chime in on the publication, but Motor Trend's "Truck Trend" and their year-end Truck Review magazine. Both gave the FJ a glowing review In a comparo which included about 20 SUVs (I really don't think of the FJ as an SUV) it came in second place (the only other vehicle with 5 stars) to a new Mercedes wonder SUV. Forgot the model number.

Re: Bested only by new Mercedes...

I wonder which came first, the Chrylser Benz Pacifica or the M Benz GL?
I can't help but note the similarities

These two should not even be in the same category. Like comparing a corvette to a vega. Not that the FJ is a vega. But you get the idea.........

I think its the R Series that is actually on the Pacifica platform?

Re: Bested only by new Mercedes...

They all look like cars to me. This is the only Mercedes that looks like an SUV to me.

The only ability that was counted in the test was to suck your bank account dry. In which case the Fj would have won but they forgot to tabulate aftermarket support.

I agree Dragon. I do think it is the ONLY suv that out-cool's the FJ!

How many FJs could you buy for the price of the Benz?
