Wow, I'm surprised they admitted it was more capable than the Land Cruiser.

It's a shame that the Land Cruiser has moved more to the yuppie crowd, more for comfort than off-road. When reading about the FJ when it was in the development stage, I remember them saying that they wanted to get back to the Off-Road tradition of the original Land Cruiser. That’s why I couldn’t wait for it to come out.

We get the couch on wheels here in the states, while areas like Australia get the badass LCs of old, as newer built models.

I use to think this way, I remember when I bought my FJ62 and found out that the overseas model had locking front and rear differentials, really made me mad. Now I never thought I would own a 4x4 with IFS, but to tell you the truth I love how comfortable it is, and also it is a very capable 4x4 as long as you realize the limitations. My FJ62 is more durable in many aspects, but man it will beat ya to death.

Now my question is why they did not mention the price of the 4WD 6 speed manual transmision. Is not going to be more MT for the FJ?

I can relate coming from a '93 Jeep to an '02 Ram 4x4 with IFS.

I still think the current Land Cruiser is a nice rig...
Before anyone starts bashing, remember that not all of us need the same things...for someone like me who really only needs my truck to be capable enough to get me to trailheads, campsites, and through bad weather, etc., and not through the Rubicon, it would add comfort, amenities, and conveniences...and handle all of those requirements with ease and with Toyota reliability...
But at a MSRP of $67K, it's a bit steep...a local dealership has several brand new '07s right now, marked down to $53K, and I have been tempted, but still....
