I already have most of these special options, I like the white roof as it goes well with my yellow body. TRD exhaust system w/6 cylinder is not that cool sounding from what I have heard.

What I wanted was a V-8 with TRD exhaust system, 2 more inches of height, better looking front bumper (ARB), get rid of the hooky mirrors and a removable hardtop like the old Blazers/Broncos. Turbo Diesel would not be bad.

Sigh, maybe next year.
You want a Ford Bronco. They don't make them any more.

Not sure if this is posted somewhere

Will just the Charcoal TRD wheels be available? (Where's Matt/Trdsource?) Price? I like the look of the dark 16's, or perhaps a custom color?

Brake dust on the chrome ones? Hey, I like those too.

Something tells me I will not be welcome on this site when I get my TRD.

I am a member on another car site for my Mercury Marauder and the people there respect each other and their cars - even though we might not like their taste.

I think it is strange how some get off on discriminating against someone's personal likes...

I personally like the TRD -

It also appears that many here are jealous because they didn't wait, so they bully it.

If you actually break the numbers down, the TRD is cheaper that the base model plus the options.

I also plan on taking off the badges.

Anyway, that's my .02 cents...

Paul
Something tells me that you are mistaken - this site is quite accepting and is well moderated by good people. Enjoy the FJ, its a great vehicle.

Paul,

I don't think anyone will berate you for your decision to get a SE. Its your choice. We all just have opinions on this subject because we have been speculating for quite a while. Many of us are a little dissapointed that TRD didn't do some other modifications to make this SE a special edition on our eyes (particularly the eyes of the off-road crowd). I for one, have been waiting to see if the SE would be special enough for me. Unfortunately it is not for me but I am happy it is for you. SO don't let our rants and our dissapointment about your future FJ version make you think we will not welcome you. We are still interested, still want to feed our appetite for everything FJ, and that includes the SE. I look forward to see your posts and pics when your rig arrives and to see how it wheel ect. So come back we are all here to learn and share.

Re: It's Official: TRD Special Edition FJ Cruiser

If you are currently in the market for a loaded FJ, the FJ SE TRD just makes too much economic sense* - I gave 'em my $500 2 weeks ago. For those that don't get that by now, you don't want to. Quit the hating. Some expected a V8, a winch...paaaaleeeeze. Look at the other TRDs of late - shocks, lockers and stickers is all you get. A V8 or 300 pound bumper-winch combo wouldn't sell to all the Toyota noobs who are buying these things - check the poll on this site, this is the first toyota (and I'd bet 4x4) for 45% of this community. Sure some came over from Jeep or wherever, but the point is this vehicle has amazing crossover appeal and an overdone SE TRD would not maximize Toyota's profits. Toyota is killing with this thing - it's pretty much marketing genious. Marketing genious would not include making a model that could only be fully appreciated by the few true hardcore offroaders out there - especially because the true hardcore offroaders want base model so they can build it thier way anyway.

*unless you can pay close to invoice for the reg rig, which appears to be possible in some areas

A little antagonistic for my first post, but want to keep the mood of this thread consistent.

On the positive side, we should get more info and real pics after the SEMA show in Vegas. Can't wait to see it.

I saw the list of "extras" on the TRD and did'nt think there was anything I really wanted. Am I missing something?

Nope, it's too straight forward to miss anything, the SE TRD is not for you.
