Re: SEMA 2007: FJ Cruiser Convertible

Sorry guys. But i think it's Fugly!

The only difference between this one and the monstrosity we saw before is the shape of the top. It definetly needs a roll cage, and maybe ditch the rear doors.

I'll stick with my 07!

x2. It would need a full roll cage in the same shape as the original FJ roof, IMO, for it to look right. Otherwise it looks like a bathtub

Re: SEMA 2007: FJ Cruiser Convertible

Like others have said, I'd really like to see it with the top down. Maybe its just me, but if you look at the windows of the blue one in the scan, something definately looks doctored/photoshoped (look closely at the front window and you see what I'm talking about). My guess is that toyota doesnt really like the look of with the top down yet either. Who debuts a new convertible with the top up?

The upside to this I think, is that Toyota is obviously keeping an eye on what we want, and what we are doing, (likely on this very forum). The blacked out treatment (and a red toyota grill logo), are styles swiped from here for sure.

I think the easy fix for this rear window eye-sore is jeep half door style tops for the rear suicide doors. We would still get the use of the door (needed) but when the top goes down, just pop off the windows and throw them in back. Looks good up, looks good down, Hear me Toyota?

Re: SEMA 2007: FJ Cruiser Convertible

I just noticed Toyota put 35's on this thing. Think they did a chop on their own steel?

As if the FJ doesn’t already have enough structural weaknesses!
