I am also partial to the big badge on the left that says I'm special. I like being validated by having a special badge. "Check me out, I'm a lifetime member, I'm better than you. So I win the thread argument." Oh yeah, can't wait to deploy that one.
LOL, indeed!

As a member who has enjoyed this site 100% for free, you've lost absolutely nothing by us offering this package. Not a thing. No permissions have been removed, no quotas have been reduced, etc.
I think this is key to making this work ok...

WOW! I missed this development because I've been working my ass off the past few days. I've absorbed what's going on and have read many posts positive and negative. Here is my take.

I think that it is valuable to separate thinking about the FJer "community" and this forum. The FJer community exists because of our enjoyment of FJs and our desire to share our enthusiasm and knowldege with like-minded folks. The forum is a commercial enterprise which has distinguished itself among many attempts by others and has emerged as the best forum venue for FJ enthusiasts.

The FJer community would exist without this forum. However, fjcruiserforums.com provides a superior service that allows enthusiasts to better come together.

Thus, my becoming a supporting member will be based upon my desire to support the FJer community - to meet new people, share good times, and have more fun with my FJ. If my support allows the forum to maintain and even increase its ability to serve us, then I'm all for it!

So, if the opportunity to support the FJer community irks you, I ask you to take a deep breath, consider that nobody has lost anything, continue to come here for FREE, keep contributing in your own way, and keep havin' fun!
Yeah, me too; I just returned from a four-day bike trip and got the message.

I totally agree with the above. I've enjoyed this forum as an FJ enthusiast from the first day I bought my vehicle. I'll continue to enjoy it, even if I didn't contribute. But, I'll chunk in some coin for contribution, even though I don't have to; this site is worth it, to me. So, for those of you don't feel this way, don't contribute any cash - there's no penalty or disrespect; everyone contributes in their own way. I've easily gotten more out this forum than I've put in (thus far). I'll still continue to participate by posting and assisting my fellow enthusiasts, where I can, and getting invaluable advice from a fantastic forum with some great users. No brainer, for me.

One problem for the admins, though: PayPal ain't gonna work for me. I am not going through the BS and hoops to create another account for an incompetent and clueless broker like PayPal (not ever again). If there's an alternative, such as mailing a check or another online method of payment, Please let those of us that are PayPal-adverse know.

Chris,

This will be my last post to you on the subject. It is clear to me that you just can't let it go. I'm sure it feels nice to be able to openly criticize this site and remain here and gain knowledge for free. However, it is the supporting vendors and supporting members on this site who have paid money that even allow us to maintain this site that you see fit to "read and post" when you feel like it for free.

the quote you posted there of mine is in response to your pal Dragon's attempt at humor in which he wanted to buy me a subscription. Seems odd you guys need donations and then offer to buy me a subsciption to something I thought I made clear I do not want.

Chris2:

Dragon is the pal of about 10,000 members here on this site. And mine.

It's not just eKool and Dragon's face you are getting into. We have all heard your opinion on this and agree to disagree. You could show the same courtesy.

Hello chewey46 it appears that you have not posted on our forums in several weeks, why not take a few moments to ask a question, help provide a solution or just engage in a conversation with another member in any one of our forums?
