..I've seen a few of the NO people chime in with idiotic claims/predictions. First, I get the feeling a lot of people voting NO are doing so only because they think it will affect their non-premium experience on this site. That's just dumb & wrong.

That sounds like an "idiotic claim/prediction" of your own bro.

Its short sighted to think nothing will change. More money only makes you want more money. As others before me have said - There just needs to be a way for people who want to give can give anonymously. Give them a sticker/shirt in the mail if they need something additional to show for it. Simple as that.

The "Premo Membership" or what ever it will be called sounds great; today. What it will become tomorrow has yet to be seen. I just don't want to see something as good as this forum go south. Call it fear of the unknown....but for me, its working just fine the way it is.

I'm amazed at the number of people out there who have voted No when they lose absolutely nothing. Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face.
Why are we discussing this, just do it.

Re: Should FJCruiserForums.com Offer a "Premium Level" Paid Membership?

I read the letter from Ekool and all the posts last night, but decided to sleep on it before voting. I have read the new posts this morning and feel the same way.

Who uses the Forum: Administrators, Moderators, Vendors, Members, and Guests. True, Guests can only view, but there are typically 30-50% Guests on-line at any time. A few Members have suggested that the Guests are lurkers, and have asked them to sign up and participate, which I concur. However, Members are clearly the largest group. It is the Members that make the Forum successful, and it is from that source that most of the ideas, explanations, pictures, research, humor and challenges originate. Although each Member is unique and contributes in a different way, all Members are equal. Oh sure, each Member’s posts are counted, they can earn reputation points (I don’t agree with that either, but that another story), they can have an identifying avatar (and change it hourly if desired), enter a signature line, and provide as much profile as they deem appropriate.

How is the Forum Maintained: Administrators ensure the forum is technically function and set policy, Moderators assist with keeping the discussion on track and civil, Vendors pay (20 at last count) for the privilege to sell the products and services, and Members (independent of how many posts) obsess about a common focal point (the FJ Cruiser) that brings a purpose and direction for the Forum to exist. I said it above, but I’ll say it again – all Members are equal.

I voted NO because I want all Members to remain equal. Also, I want to send a message to other Forum Administrators that might be monitoring this vote that the most viable and popular Forums don’t need a paying class from the common Membership to be successful. Vendors are an exception because they benefit from the opportunity to sell directly.

I’m not attacking the people who voted yes, I am against the principle of two classes of Membership.

I was rather surprised by the opposition to a premium FJCFs membership. Perhaps you might consider throwing a in lift kit or rock sliders to entice people into a premium membership.

Re: Should FJCruiserForums.com Offer a "Premium Level" Paid Membership?

I'm Confused...

NO Private AREA for Premium members that could cause segragation and NO Loss OF information due to private threads... (was my biggest fear)

Additional Photo storage for EVERYONE, I SAID FOR EVERYONE... (read the first post)

I would luv to see more information and Images on this Site !!!...

I have my own Image Hosting site I pay for each month in part to this forums minimal storage... So Getting more for nothing would be a BIG Plus... So whatare you lossing ??? I Guess it is Just Fear... "There is nothing to fear but fear itself"...

Ahhh... I'm just babbeling....Blah Blahhh... Blaahhh !!!!

I just don't see why you would vote no, if there is absolutely no downside. Nobody has pointed out a downside yet to this vote. Not a real one anyways...

I think people are voting without completely reading and comprehending the first post by ekool. People are voting on impulse and, dare I say (dare! dare!), pure ignorance.
The last time I voted for the Pres. I did not have to explain my vote, so why here? Right now 60 percent are saying no, does majority rule? I do not think the majority should have to explain themselves or be called ignorant. Take the no vote off the poll and I'm sure it will turn out the way you want it.

That's kinda what I was wondering!

I feel like it will either be implemented or not regardless of this "polling"

If no one pays, I guess the Admin will know then whether it was a good idea or not.
