You know.........this really aggravates me. I've been a member I think a little over two weeks and you guys have come up with this for the second time.
For $30 a year, what do I really get....email, ability to put more pictures on this site etc etc. That would be the worst idea and value.
If you dont feel its a good value, you dont sign up. Whats the problem?

Its my OPINION but your getting greedy and its going to kill your site and people are going to jump ship and head to FJcruiserLife.com
Not trying to be rude or mean, but what do you care where I "waste" my money? Are you trying to protect me from spending it?

and note many of those voting no have not said why....(yet)

while I appreciate the view points expressed in the previous thread started by Rubi against premium membership, I respectfully disagree. Many of the more well known and respected boards out there offer such a thing (Rennlist and Pirate4x4 come to mind), and they have vibrant, well rounded communities.

I have said it before (and will probably say it again), noone gets rich running a forum. With or without premium membership. at $30 a year, lets say 10% sign up. We currently have 6,300 memebers; that is a paltry additional $18,900 a year. Not exactly Trump money guys....

Re: Should FJCruiserForums.com Offer a "Premium Level" Paid Membership?

Paying for anything makes me start looking for value right away. I actually read what you are offering and it seems quite fair for the work you are putting into it. I will be totally honest........I check here every day to see what's new and weigh in on stuff I feel I can contribute. Again, I will be honest, I most likely wont pay to get the goodies offered, but I can totally see where there is a value for some to go premium. My vote in a moment will be a much deserved yes just because of what we have already benefited from. You got my vote, my thanks and my respect................

concur if you run 5 or more and lease equipment it can be a business, many of the car sites have 100's of advertisors at $50 or more per month. know a few guys that do this and they get to have very flexible jobs, play geek all day.

But your not going to get rich off one site.

The site is supported by vendors who want our business, let them pay. Sell advirtising space or something but why RUIN a good thing.

Don't ruin this great site!
Yeah, what he said. Jeesh, what is this, high school?

Re: Should FJCruiserForums.com Offer a "Premium Level" Paid Membership?

No, I don't care where you guys spend your money and yes, I believe you should have the right to spend freely and $30 is pop money for some of us.
Its the precedence of segregation.....high archy.
Its like first class flights....I always chuckle at the people in first class...uuuhhh, they get on the plane first...uuuuhhhh, they get to walk on the little carpet at check in that says "I paid more, Premium flyer program" and the biggest benefit is a bigger seat.
Is there not ways to ask people for donations and let up proudly have ownership of the site, empowerment of "Doing the right thing" and helping out, then turn around and GIVE EVERYONE THE BENENFITS....EQUALITY.....COMMUNITY........
Vendors, pay a little more to give your customers a little extra benefits you all talked about.
We give the vendors a lot of R and D, help them develope market trends and give them great general feedback....we are there ginnie pigs in here.
Its not the $30, it our societies trend of trying to establish rank status level.
One thing I like about the demographic FJ purchaser and driver...is that they aren't like the other car owners who don't wave or yuppies......
Your takin something pure and turning it into many of the things I hate about our society.....
But please, take my OPINION for what its worth....I'll do what i have to do when the time comes.
You all have a good thing, with some GREAT moderators etc....don't mess this up...please

Re: Should FJCruiserForums.com Offer a "Premium Level" Paid Membership?

Come on guys! Get with the program, remember [ I T C O S T S Y O U N O T H I N G ]

Some members ASKED for this ( Myself included) for more storage space for pictures. Simple enough right? You keep all your free stuff, I get to pay for more space)

I thought this was a free country, why impose limitations on those willing to pay more to get more?

I will just open a second free account with any of my paid high speed addresses and have multiple galleries. No problem. The site loses the $30 bucks and I get my space. Thanks.
