Re: New Windshield Poll - Please Respond

a word of warning do not use safelite auto glass to replace your windshield, took 7 appointments to get mine changed, wrong glass, new cracked glass 3 times, wrong seals, no seals and when they finally got it changed I noticed they put the wipers back on wrong and the little square piece of body molding wont stay in place, they wanted me to bring it in so they could fix it but I told them they would never touch my fj again...what a JOKE

Thanks for the information! I was already annoyed at their commercials anyway, so that just gives me another reason not to like them.

Re: New Windshield Poll - Please Respond

Just had mine replaced last month, by safelite, they did a fairly good job, except they put the wipers back on crooked and left greasy hand prints on my headliner. Thank god, my wife got 100% glass coverage on the cars. This wasn't toyota's fault, I got hit by a rock coming off at tractor trailer, probably coming at me around 70-75(down hill loaded) and I was doing 60-65 so somethings gonna break.

Re: New Windshield Poll - Please Respond

Windshield Damage:

Returning to Boise, Idaho from a trip to San Diego in late December 2008, only two weeks after having purchaed my FJC, we hit a snow storm outside of Salt Lake City. Roads were well iced, cars were sliding off every few miles. The FJC handled well but the windshield cracked from road debris (I never did see what hit the windshield) , which had to be replaced. The crack started on the top driver's side and went to the lower middle of the windshild. No problems since then.

Re: New Windshield Poll - Please Respond

Haven't had to replace the windshield yet but have gotten 3 chips filled in the last 6 months. The first one i got while driving home from the dealership.

I'm sure it's only a matter of time...
