Re: New Windshield Poll - Please Respond

Sorry all, I put this in the wrong spot...here it is.

If you live in the los angeles area and need a windshield replacement take note, Auto Glass 1 in Reseda does an outstanding job. Needless to say I was a bit nervous after reading so many horror stories...dents, scratches, leaks, misaligned trim, you get the picture...I'm back in business with none of the above mentioned issues.

Hi Moderators - Can we get the Toyota rep involved in this situation, the same one who answered questions regarding the tire recall? I would love to hear answers about these windshields. Mine is a mess.

I have attempted to PM. But box is always full.

Re: New Windshield Poll - Please Respond

A few people were talking about less cost for replacement here in Canada. True, but still not cheap. Was quoted $890 today for a new windshield. Whatever I can do to help keep the pressure on let me know.

Yes, just over 12K and great star from a gravel truck. Working in construction I am used to this, but I fear the cost issue. I have never filed an insurance claim for a windshield and will attempt to wait for a reasonable cost.

Re: New Windshield Poll - Please Respond

yep I've already had to replace my windshield after only having the FJ since April. I then had to wait at least 3 weeks for my new windshield to come in to Safelite Autog glass.

Toyota's Windshields Are Longstanding Problem

i am about to buy an fj cruiser, still pricing for the best deal, and i'm turning in my '03 4runner ltd after a 39 month lease in january. a cpl of years ago i found a chip on my windshield, didn't bother dealing with it, but now i face the issue of either repairing it prior to turn in, taking a chance that they wont penlaize me when i turn it in, or face the music. any advice will be much appreciated. btw i'm in fairfield county, ct.

That would fall under my definition of normal wear and tear, (especially on a toyota truck!), but I would check the lease agreement to be sure.
Either way- It sounds likeyour going to have to visit the windshield shop soon .

Re: New Windshield Poll - Please Respond

Had my FJ less than 2 weeks, when dealer was installing satellite radio antenna wire and removing windshield trim he cracked the windshield in 2 places. They're going to replace it, but they don't know when. Heck of a way to start off with a new car
