Speed Glass Racing Windshield
Speedglass is 50-75% lighter than standard safety glass. These windshields are extremely shatterproof and offer excellent optical clarity. They also come with a special coating on both inside and outside to prevent scratching.
They test these with rifles...check it out on the web, those interested may have better luck writing to these people to make some for the FJ's and not only Jeeps

Re: New Windshield Poll - Please Respond

I just e-mailed Jim Dunham at Percy's in regards to our collective windsheild issue. I think if more people e-mail/call them, the chances that they decide to develop a replacement for our FJ's will increase... They definitely have a market if they want to produce one...

Here is their website.

Re: New Windshield Poll - Please Respond

This might help -check with your dealership; perhaps they will still offer and sell the aftermarket window protection plan- I know it is usually only offered on the initial purchase, but I would hope they have some sympathy reference all of the windshield complaints

- - I paid 400 bucks up front for the 360 Diamond Fusion, good for 4 years, unlimited number of replacements, and no deductables - -I only pray that after the fours years is up, I'll get a chance to re-new it - - so far, replaced once, they picked up the $1375 tag on it...so it paid off big-time, and those rocks keep on knocking on my window testing it out!

Re: New Windshield Poll - Please Respond

well count me in on the destoryed windshield, 700 miles it was chipped, at 980 it cracked in a different spot than where it was chipped...

Fortuantly for me it happened while the dealer had it and they are picking up the tab.

Re: New Windshield Poll - Please Respond

I was contacted by packman73 in regards to the FJ Cruiser windshields. This is always a problem on vehicles with a more vertical windshield and it is definitely an application that we can and will produce. What we would like to do is put together a group buy of 10 windows to justify the production of the mold. lead time will be approx. 3 weeks for mold and window production. Please email me at jim.dunham@percyshp.com or call me at 573-346-4409 ext 17

note to admin: if we can get this group buy we would be willing to become a sponsor of this site.

I'd like to participate depending on the cost of the windshield and I have questions about installation. Can you please advise?

Re: New Windshield Poll - Please Respond

i have a question about these cracked windows, is this happening mostly off road? or is this on rocky streets or something? I'm just curious if these cracks are happening in places where you would expect them to happen (ie: rocky places)
