What I found out is this .... sure the windshield may be $755, but then they have to order this piece and that piece and so on because this windshield comes out like no other and about every little supporting piece is destroyed getting the sucker out! For instance, the top white trim piece can't be saved. A new one is glued onto the windshield. Anyways, you add up all the other pieces which "will" be needed and the extra labor for doing all this and bam .... $1,200. You can bet your a$$ the second time mine was cracked I drove directly to the nearest glass repair shop before it got any worse.

This is partially correct. Actual replacement cost for my windshield purchased a month ago:
Toyota's FJ Windshield part # 56101-35070
1060.38 + tax to be exact. 120.00 for install. Toyota didn't charge my dealer freight for th part. (I have heard a cheaper price from Canadian owners not sure why.) Took 20 days to get the windshield.
Toyota of Dallas successfully removed trim parts and reinstalled them. Their glass guy already had experience with the FJ.
Also, I just changed my comprehensive insurance for the FJ from 250 to 100 deductable. Total change in cost was 6 bucks total/6month term. Easy decision. ( my ins is Progressive , by the way).
Hope this helps.
