Xterra....real back seat that folds flat, real rear windows, locker, standard traction control on front and rear, better tires than FJ, standard roof rack, more power than FJ........

Re: 10 Reasons I'm Not Getting a FJ Cruiser

And for the record, I don't mind seeing the criticisms. The truck it can take it, and then some.

The fact that it isn't perfect for everyone reinforces ckit's point, that toyo really hit their demographic and price point. And does anyone honestly think a truck designed for the offroad segment could ever also be a great family car/daily driver? It would be nice, and there may be some compromises that improve daily driving without hurting offroading. But at some point it'll become expensive enough that a lot of us would be too nervous to bash it around. (like the new gen 4runner). Every bump and splash would start to sound like a cash register.

just a couple thoughts.

b!tch b!tch b!tch b!tch b!tch b!tch. Get a Sienna, and leave our FJ how it is. I love it.

The Huge C-Pillar is not really an issue. You can get used to it. The little back windows are placed exactly where the blindspot starts so if you don't catch it there. You will through you sideview mirror. And if you're that lazy get a little round mirror and problem solved.

And the back seats are removeable, the backrest folds nice and flat once you remove the seats.

I am sure toyota knows more about making cars than you do.

Would it suprise you to know that people from automobile manufacturers actually GO to sites like this one?

Do you know why they go to sites like this? To find out what people think. To find out if there is anything that people like or *GASP* dislike about the vehicle they make.

Do you know that automobile makers have made changes based on things discussed in a *GASP* enthusiast forum??

Well it's true.

And the good people at Toyota that built this great truck would prefer honest criticism over worshipping.
Thank you for being one of the intelligent unbiased few . The Obsession of this vehicle is heavily clouding people's intelligence , common sense , and judgement.
Nothing in the world is perfect , especially not an FJ. I like it, but it's not all that and I am a loyal toyota owner.

If they don't - well, then it's a better-looking one-hit wonder/horror like the Aztek or the Vehicross.

You're right, that was a low blow.

At least I didn't compare it to an Element. Or an Edsel. Or a Tucker. Or a Delorean. Or a Trabant. Or a Y... I can't even say it. Really, I didn't. I didn't mention any of those!

(Actually I think the Yugo was pretty cool. I tried to buy one that was abandoned a while back, was going to turn it into an "art car" with a map of Yugoslavia with burning buildings on the roof. They never called be back, go figure.)

You must be a Toyota salesman or something. Of course Toyota knows more about making a car than us. That doesnt mean that our criticisms of there GREAT truck are meaningless.

Your fanboy gushing over it, and saying it is perfect, IS worthless to them however. Have a nice day.

You know what??? I'm totally not buying an FJ until it has a rear mounted helicopter rotary engine, gullwing doors and a steerable front headlight! Man, Toyota really messed up on that deal!

Re: 10 Reasons I'm Not Getting a FJ Cruiser

Everybody is entiteld to their own opinion. After a week of driving mine, I still can't wipe this stupid smile off my face. Looks, comfort, quality, ride, off road performance... there are too many great things about this rig for me to worry much about the points made in this post.

Sure I'd like the back window to release with a button on the remote or in the fromt dash controls.

Sure I'd like a lockable gas tank access door with a little more capacity.

Sure I'd like XM radio components to be inlused from the factory.

Sure I'd like a better off road tire to come as s standard feature.

All these will get fixed in a year or two but I'd hate to miss out on oll the fun I'm having in the mean time.

Re: 10 Reasons I'm Not Getting a FJ Cruiser

The ONLY reasons not to buy this vehicle are ones that relate to the driver.

Who gives a flying rat's azz what they deal with in the back seat!!!

That's NOT who this vehicle is for!!!
