Re: What grade gas do you run?

I had my FJ for one week . Dealer filled with regular and said it ok to use. Said that Toyota will be revising literature to state 87 is ok to use. May sacrifice a mile per gallon or so

Re: What grade gas do you run?

I vote a while back. I ran 87 octane for about 10k miles w/o problems. I read higher octane might give better mileage so I ran 89 octane for a little over 1000 miles. There was some improvement (about 1 mpg) but when I calculated the price of using each grade, I found 87 was slightly cheaper in the long run. I switched back to 87. I haven't recalculated the costs with all the increases. I typically get between 18 to 20 mpg at each tank full.
