Re: Why did you buy?

definitely loved (and still do) the looks when i first saw the FJ, but off road use and reliability were right there on the deciding factors table.

Re: Why did you buy?

It has more room than a 2-door Rubicon and fits in my garage better than a 4-door Rubicon.

The rare SE is a bonus.

Re: Why did you buy?

I just love the looks of the FJ and we recently purchased a house in a snow belt.

Re: Why did you buy?

I saw the prototype and I fell in love. I just hoped that Toyota would produce it and they did build it.
I was so happy, that I promised myself that I would buy one-someday. Well that day came and I bought one on May 3rd, 2008

Re: Why did you buy?

I needed a 4wd for my job. Work around tanks and what not which chew up the ground. My 2wd Taco was a chore to keep from getting stuck and was originally looking at a nice 4wd Taco last week. The FJ just won me over on a test drive. Not as practical as a pickup but who cares? I really wanted the new FJ from the initial release but was not a big SUV fan. It's rare when the vehicle you want actually exceeds your expectations.

Re: Why did you buy?

I voted "get away vehicle".

I bought the FJ primarily to tow my enclosed dirt bike trailer and ski boat. I bought the FJ over any other SUV due to the availability of a manual transmission and 'made by Toyota'.

I almost didn't buy it due to the limited visibility; which is more of a problem when dealing with big city traffic with millions of cell phone talking, newpaper reading, make-up applying drivers.
