Re: Why did you buy?

I totaled my 03 TRD 4x4 Tacoma so had no choice but to get a new vehicle. Loved the looks of the FJ since I first saw the concept FJ pictures. Like the TRD for its all black bad ass look.

Re: Why did you buy?

Combination of several things, which may or may not be in the poll choices:

1. Work vehicle (need to go off-road frequently)
2. Previous experience with Toyota (reliability)
3. Excellent compromise of on-road handling and comfort and off-road abilities
4. Good base to modify and tinker with to my taste.

Re: Why did you buy?

My wife wanted a jeep and I said hell to tha no, but we'll make a comprimise. We haven't looked back since. My 4x2 (with locker) deose everything I need it to do, with better MPG than the 4x4.

Re: Why did you buy?

My 1985 4Runner (the beast) was my weekend toy and my 2003 Mustang GT convertible was my commuter car. My wife was expecting our first baby and she told me there was no way in he!! that she would put my little one in the Beast. My wife did not like my soft top 4runner, but she tolerated it.
I was planning on keeping my 4runner and replacing the Mustang for a 4 door Tacoma, but when the FJ came out I decided it was time to sell both vehicles and get an off road rig that was a bit more child friendly.

I still feel like I made the best decision for my circumstances.

Take me OUT of this city NOW!

Nothing better then stretching my wings and leaving the nest for the weekend.

Re: Why did you buy?

Something different. I didn't want to get a vehicle just to drive.

I can't agree more. That was the FIRST reason I bought the FJ. Cities are just too confining. Sometimes we have to hang in them because of jobs, families and so forth, but escape is essential to my sanity from time to time.

Re: Why did you buy?

Oh yeah, the last one was my choice as well.

Re: Why did you buy?

Saw the pictures and loved the jeep. Powerful engine and looks and the newer version of the 40. And its a TOYOTA.
