Snake Lake OHV Ca

Headed out to Gold Lake area north of Lake Tahoe. There are some great trails out there from moderate to difficult. Got a little stuck and took longer than planned.

Lessons Learned:

Always take firends
You can never have to much beer
Stocks tires work for now but, not in mud
Rock rails were the best investment ever
There were many more which I am sure you can see in the pics

who put that rock there (spotters were new and the mud was slick)

The long way around:

Thank god for the All Pro approach angle:

Made it to the bottom:

Had a good time I need new skip plates and and the trail claimed the plastic cover to the oil drain plug.

Nice to see you had some help. Good pics.
This is grey rock, and it sure dosen't look smooth to me.
I thought the trail rock around Tahoe was rounded and smooth.

I have only lived here for two years but from what I have seen most of the trails right around Tahoe are more rounded rock (river rock). However to the north or south there are many places like this. This was a great area about one hour north of Tahoe.

KTM adventerous and stupid have a very fine line. I got commited to a very steep grade and the ground was much softer than it looked due to some recent rain in the area. I took us three hours to go down 1500 ft and 500 yards. We ended up having to do some night wheelin and meeting the other two jeeps that were with us back at around at the top of the trail. Life lessons, always take it slow and have some good friends to get you out.
