Sedona Broken Arrow Trail

Did this trail this summer, was super fantastic. The obstacle above is called the steps it is a 1 way trail you can only go down. One of the Jeep tours PINKY told me it is a 5.5 trail and inorder to go up it you have to use a winch (yeah right the FJ would go right up it no prob). If you are in Northern AZ I highly recommend doing this trail the scenary is unbelievable.

This is real rock hopping my friend James and I.

Can you see the vortex (just kidding) watch out for crystal worshippers!sp?

Re: Sedona Broken Arrow Trail

I drove Broken Arrow the afternoon of 11 DEC. I thought that on MON PM there would not be much traffic but saw one jeep about 5 of the pink jeep tour vehicles. I had Charles Wells book on Arizona backroads and 4wd trails as a guide but once I got to the trail head I really didn't need it. Coming from SOCAL I had not driven on slick rock before and so that was pretty cool, the FJ walked up the rocks and ledges with no problem. One of the pink jeeps stopped to let the tourists check me out as I climbed up on one massive boulder and I heard at least one, "Wow!" I had read some stuff on-line about pink jeep drivers being jerks but all the guys I talked to asked me where I was from and how I was doing, so that was a pleasant surprise. I also drove up Schnebly Hill Rd, a nice gain in altitude about 2K ft in first 6 1/2 miles or so - kind of rocky but no challenges. I was in Sedona w/Mrs PACAVLY FJ and so did not have but two half days to dedicate to off roading but plan on returning for more red rock fun in the future. My FJ is not lifted and am running stock tires and had no problems w/any thing on Broken Arrow.

Good to hear of a FJC hitting this trail besides me, the pinky jeep tour did the same for me(everyone gauking) i only experienced 1 jeep tour the day I went(was lucky I guess) the scenary is unbelievable, even though there's an occational pinky jeep tour. I mountain board schnebly hill every time I'm in the area so much fun, do you have any pics????Keep on rockin!!!!
