Cave Valley II

Woo hooo! I fingered it out!

Here's another view of "THE TANK" at Cave Valley, NV I'm not sure if that's the correct name for this place but it's what the locals call it. Situated at the extreme southern end of the Ruby Mountains in central Nevada. This area is believed to be the location of a stolen strongbox full of gold bullion taken from the Elko - Hamilton stage in the last half of the 1800s. The culprits were caught and died in prison but the loot was never found. I love kickin' around this area. Who knows...

Re: Cave Valley II

Here's another reason to visit Cave Valley. Come for the scenery, stay for the rattlesnakes!

Yeah... they're real!

the foto of the snakes was taken in early spring as they were coming out of their dens.

The Cave Valley area is way cool. The rock formations look like something out of a science fiction movie. There's even a natural arch that is an easy climb and is large enough for several folks to stand inside or to pitch a tent for an overnight campout. You can see it at the top center of the ridge.

Come on out and I'll show you the area.
