Today was the first day of the TTORA Takeover in Farmington, NM. My dad and I got out to the staging area around 8 am. The West Coast Trail Team was there (Will, Ron, Maureen, Alfred, Colin and Ted from Toyota). FJCruzer123 - Eric was there as well. We went on 2 runs - Arches in the morning and RJ's Trail in the afternoon. We meet a lot of guys from TTORA (Kevin, Jesse, Doug, Dave, & alot more). Everyone at TTORA were very welcoming of us FJ people. Arches was a very good trail. Pretty technical but still a little laid back. The afternoon trail, RJ's was tough. There was no bypass so you had to make the first obstacle to finish the trail. Several turned around and went back, it was that tough. Several vehicles had to be winched. It took us about an hour and a half to clear 10 rigs. It was awesome! The FJ's all made it. The TTORA guys were watching us closely and were very impressed with us. Afterwards it was back to base camp were the Trail Team fixed hamburgers and hot dogs. On the way home dad let me do a little climbing of my own. All in all it was a great first day!
I felt very independent, even though my dad was spotting and telling me were to go. I keep learning a little more every trip and getting more experience. It was also a learning experience to watch all the guys climbing at the TTORA Takeover. It was pretty hard core, way different from Ouray. Thanks Sun Fusion Cruiser!

Yep the TTORA take over is all weekend so we're heading out again tomorrow. I was having fun for sure but dad was tearing it up, in a good sense. This was way more extreme than the Ouray trails. I liked the Ouray trails better because it was senic and relaxing, this is adrenaline city. There was a lot of winching going on. Dad says "hi & anytime you're this way we can take you to some wild stuff".
