I took the 3 Day Weekend as an opportunity to take a Multi Day Trail Outing through the North Eastern Part of the U.P.
I started my Trip at Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore.
Arrived at 4am Saturday! This first shot is a night shot and extra long exposure using the red lenz on my head lamp to make the red effect. Very cool, no photo shop here!!!!
Once We got into the Park we did not have any paved roads!!!!! Miners Falls! Castle Rock Beaver Lake Look out.. The Rangers will tell you the trail is closed, but the truth is that all the trails in the park are open and most are not even marked, we just wheeled all day through the park and got to see things that are not on the Beaten path White Fish Point and the Dunes on the Eastern Part of the Park Lots of Wheeling along the way between sites! Random Phone Booth in the Middle of the woods! We thought it was funny! My FJ's First Ferry Ride! Sweet Water Falls Along the way! Last Sunset before we head home!
This was a great ride, but you will have plenty of Desert Pinstriping if you take the trails in the park, they are narrow and low hanging, some of the spots you can get stuck, especialy the sand so bring recovery gear! But it was a great time!!! Some the the hard core wheeling is between the park and white fish point, lots of rock and sand with decent elevation changes.

evilskier - I didn't make it into Petosky, but my FJ was bouncing all over the Sleeping Bear lakeshore for the holiday weekend - Glen Arbor, Leland, Suttons Bay...

Yea!! We were there on Sunday night right as the sunset was going down! I liked M22 but way too much traffic. I prefer the out in the boonys feeling of the U.P. better.
Really awesome pictures. I should head there in one of the weekends never been there and im in Michigan.
You don't have an excuse then!!! Pictured rock is awesome, but make sure you make the hike to Chapel Rock and Chapel falls, They are really pretty and worth the 3 mile hike!
These are pictures from 2 years ago... we got my parents Denali stuck up there... Booooo wish I had the FJ then.
WoW these are really great pictures i will keep it in mind when i go there to take that hike it looks that its really worth the 3 miles. Thank you again.
