We wish you were with us as well!

We are so far from our home, friends, and family. Any chance you could met us - Austral highway perhaps?

Forgot to mention that the road started sliding in one part while we were on it! The slide was just raining small granules onto the surface and there was plenty of room to make it through safely... Wouldn´t be surprised if they closed the road soon afterwards.

Re: Across the Americas in a FJC

Not much driving during this past few weeks but sometimes the best experiences are to be had hiking the Cordillera Blanca or taking a boat deep into the Peruvian jungle.

It is driving that gets us to these beautiful places but once there it is time to leave the coach and feel the spray from the river in your face...

Here is a picture from the world-famous Nazca desert. If you were up in the air you would have seen an FJ Cruiser parked next to the "Hands" glyph of the Nazca lines:

Re: Across the Americas in a FJC

Geez Shreesh, you are definitely on quite an expedition. I finally maded it to the last page and you make it feel like we are all there on the road with you. Thank you for posting the great detailed stories of your travels and the beautiful landscapes. Someone a couple pages back asked if you were willing to do a meet & greet when you get back, I am all for it ! Happy travels, Can't wait to hear what you have been through since your last post.

The Atacama desert is the driest desert in the world. Traveling through this lunar landscape can be both monotonous and inspiring. Interesting ruins await those who wish to look deeper.

Here is a picture from the Valle de Luna, close to San Pedro Atacama:

Re: Across the Americas in a FJC

Argentina was like a dream. It is impossible not to have fun here: awesome scenery, wonderful and interesting people, and great food and wine!

I feel like a rockstar here - nowhere outside Colombia has the FJ and our expedition generated so much interest. It is not surprising that Che Guevara is from here...

The Cafayate wine country close to Salta is a combination of Sedona, AZ and Napa Valley. The wines are very good, not as good as Napa, mind you, but I am a bit biased

Here is a picture of the red rock country that surrounds the wine growing regions:
