Shreesh I have enjoyed your posts and blog. I never had much to add other then, "What a fantastic trip."
In regards to not having malaria pills, you can use silver colloidal as a substitute. In a trip I took to Tanzania a few years a ago many people used it as a preventative measure against malaria (when they could not get the appropriate meds). It might be relatively easy to get or make yourself until you get some Malarone or Doxycycline.
***Taking to much silver colloid can cause you skin to have a blue hue, but that is after excess is ingested over a prolonged period of time.
Hope it all works out and your trip continues going well!

The challenges mounted too quickly, we decided to call off the Amazon portion...
It was a crushing disappointment to turn away from the Amazon jungle just as we were looking into its leafy green border. No malaria pills, high alcohol gas, the FJ throwing DTCs, and expensive or impossible to get spare parts factored into the decision.
For now if I close my eyes hard enough and believe I can imagine this stretch of rainforest in Argentina to be the Amazon...
Really am enjoying your adventure...Hope that one day my wife and I ...or the whole family...could experience such a wonderful trip.
Godspeed and all the best for a safe journey.

Thanks for the good cheer! Happy holidays to you and everyone who has been folliwing us on this trip!
Sorry to hear about you not being able to continue through the Amazon, I was looking forward to some more great pictures. But your right, 700 miles of mud and washouts would not be smart without help being close by. I hope you have better luck on your next leg of the journey.
Mike
P.S. What are you using for Internet Accesses in the middle of nowhere? Sat link? Thanks
Mike
