After lengthy preparation we have finally started our trip from San Francisco - Inuvik - Puerto Toro - Buenos Aires. The route spans all three americas in a north o south crossing.
Just found this thread and I can't wait to read it... I'll do my own one day! Great Idea
I was only able to find a Mastercraft Courser AT in our size. I had thought that 285/75/R16 was a fairly common size, but it is next to impossible to find in Patagonia. Luckily we managed to source one in Punta Arenas, Chile, in the Duty Free zone.
hope you put together an expedition book on your experiences....too bad it was not being filmed and made into a mini series.....

Heh, heh, I don't know whether I have the right personality to be on a mini-series - I mean don't you have to bite off the heads of hamsters and that sort of thing to get noticed?
Well, looks like we have reached the end of the road going south!
The original plan was to go to Puerto Williams in Chile, but we would have had to wait a week for the ferry from Punta Arenas.
Besides we wanted to go to Antarctica, and Ushuaia is the best place to do it. So we are off to the white continent today! The FJ will sit here while we tour about in one of those thick steel boats.
