Awesome thread. What is your time frame for the trip?

Man, this looks beautiful. You should enter this in the artistic FJ contest, or photo of the month contest, or whatever contest available; too bad your roof lights aren't on, it would have been more magical yet.

Sounds like an awesome trip, and needless to say, I'm so completely and utterly jealous.

Perhaps when you have a minute or two, you may tell us how the FJ is holding up on this type of trip. If you have already posted a buildup for your FJ, please point us to it.
K.
I have a short in those &@%!@%!! lights, so they're off line for now

I haven't had a chance to put my rig in the member section of the forum but I do have a build write-up on my site.

We hope to be in Buenos Aires in January 2009. But , that is so far from now that I am not sure whether it will be sooner, later, or not at all!

Safe travels! This reminds me of the FJ40 story in the FJ Cruiser Issue 1 Toyota issue. Do comment on any hiccups or malfunctions, it'll add to the excitement for us readers.
I caught a pebble on the Alaska Highway and have a small star on the windshield, but so far there have been no interesting mishaps. I guess the Dempster in winter is not enough of a challenge for this truck?

The roads have been very slick at times - the full-time 4x4 has kept us safe.

Truck is holding up well so far, but I am sure something is bound to break sooner or later, especially with where we're going!

I hope you come to an agreement with your &@%!@%!! lights, since inanimate objects are known to be vengeful when needed most.

Thank you for the link to your site, it was fun visiting it and reading up about what's going on.

Wishing you the best of fun, luck, and hardcore-but-safe adventure. I'll be watching your progress from the safety of my sterile monitor, in an underground and fluorescently-lit office .

Re: Across the Americas in a FJC

Drive safe and good luck, on your way threw have you scheduled oil changes and maintence (of course you have) the question is has any dealerships offered to assist you on your treak? Not looking for a hand out but this could really benefit yourself and them. All the best on your trip.
