Re: Across the Americas in a FJC

Shreesh, I really enjoyed your website. Very nicely done.

Can you tell us more of the cargo barrier? I'm very interested.

Thanks! The cargo barrier was put together by Superior 4Wheel Drive and cost about $425 or so. Provides a great place to mount the fire extinguisher too...

They're out there but it'll cost you some ka-ching.

Gas at Eagle Plains was over $6.00 per gallon. I've had several $100+ fill-ups already.

Man what a great adventure. Hope you are documenting with video. You should contact the Trail Teams as you near the end of the journey. I would imagine that they would want to feature you and your rig. Would be awesome to see you on the cover of official Toyota sales material.

Good luck and keep the pictures rolling in!

Not sure if this has been posted before, but I thought this might be a good thread to share it in: Worldrecordtour

This could be you guys! Leaving on a year trip and ending up going all over the world!

Re: Across the Americas in a FJC

The challenge of the Dempster is now over. Here is one last Dempster picture with the FJ in the foreground:

Now our attention turns to the Cassiar Highway that runs south from Watson Lake. It is supposed to be spectacular but so far it it has not matched the Dempster as far as winter scenery is concerned. But it still provides this lovely view of Dease Creek:

I read about those guys in Toyota Trails. Incredible Voyage.

I asked Neena whether this could happen to us - both of us think not. I'm not sure we're suited for a life on the road, it is nice to tarry once in a while. In some place where there are friends, where there is family. I miss my city by the bay and I have been only gone 20 days
