Impressively built rig!
You got good music or something to keep you both entertained on the road, besides the beautiful landscapes and the treacherous weather?

Driving through Canada on Highway 16 we came across this sign. A caution for sure, but for whom? Scratch a little deeper and the mystery becomes deeper and richer...

Can a tragedy occur on so grand a stage? Or must there be a grand stage for a tragedy? The Canadian Rockies on the Highway of Tears...

I'm traveling with my entire MP3 collection. Lots of Opera, with a smattering of music from around the world. The stereo is still stock, I had budgeted only about a $1000 for stereo upgrades and found that I really couldn't get any significant improvement at that price point.

Re: Across the Americas in a FJC

Shreesh,

Are you going from Frisco to Alaska and then to South America?? I tried to look it up on your website but couldnt find your exact points of destination. I would like to know if you can elaborate more on your points of interest/road map.

2 years ago my uncle bought a new Tacoma 4x4 and after a month of owning it he drove up to Alaska from Southern Caliornia. He went up all the way on the The Dalton Highway, the farthest north you can drive on Alaska's road system. He had a good time. But his car was stock with just a ARB bull bar.

If you look at my maps page you will see a link for 'proposed route' which describes the route we intend to take. The 'actual route' link illustrates the route followed, so far. The maps page defaults to the actual route.

If you are a Google Earth user you can download the actual and proposed routes in one KML file here. It is interesting to see the idealistic route and the one taken when reality hits!

That is great. You should ask Google for sponsorship. They pay you to drive around with gadgets on your roof to document your travels, you provide them with data that is viewed at street level. Good luck tp you in your long travels.

Re: Across the Americas in a FJC

Well, things had been quiet here in Kelly, WY while we studied for our EMT, until yesterday when a large 1000+ pound bull Elk decided to get friendly with the FJC. He was flipped over the roof and killed on the spot, steam rising from his corpse.

Incredibly, my wife and I not only survived the encounter but came out unscathed. Recommendations for Auto body / repair shops in Jackson would be appreciated!
